Cycling Australia today named the 28 cyclists it intends to nominate to the Australian Olympic Committee for selection in the Australian team for the 2008 Olympic Games to contest the road, track, mountain bike and BMX cycling events in Beijing.

Next Sunday 6th July, Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club is hosting Round 4 of the Qld Sunshine Series Downhill at their venue in Amos Road via Withcott. On line entry forms are now up on Two Wheel Promotions. For those who havent ventured up the range before, an access map also available from the same site. Registration from 7.30am, official practice from 8.00 and racing at 1.00pm. A canteen will be operating all day.
The track will be open for use by the general public on Saturday until 4.00pm when it will be shut down for some last minute maintenance. Everyone who plans to ride the course on Saturday needs to be aware though that there wont be any track marshalls around and Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club will not be responsible for any loss/injury that may occur prior to start of official practice at 8.00am on Sunday. Also for insurance purposes, there will be NO PRIVATE SHUTTLES permitted on Sunday. For further particulars, email enquiries to contact@tmbc.org.au

Judy Pokoj (Daz's mum) sends word that Darren has hurt himself pretty bad in training accident prior to the 26Trix competition. Judy says he body slammed the back of a jump on last friday and was taken to the hospital in Lutz. He spent five days in intensive care with a torn liver and internal bleeding and has since been moved into the wards. He says that he is in a lot of bloody pain and it is hard for him to move but says "All is good". He'll be in the hospital for another 3 weeks. Unfortunately you will have to wait another week till the 15th June to get your downhill racing in. Due to the very heavy rainfall at the venue and more predicted for Friday the Gold Coast Club has had to postpone this Sundays race till next week. ALL ENTRIES WILL BE TRANSFERRED OVER TO NEXT WEEKEND. The good news if you have not entered yet you can save $10 by entering by midnight Wednesday 11th. If you have already entered DO NOT ENTER AGAIN.
