Support more trails in Mitcham SA (2 comments) (link) Tuesday, 19-May-2009 8:27 PM - by scratchy
So a council employed Glen Jacobs in Adelaide to put down a DH, 4X, some Northshore and generally fun riding tracks off Windies in SA. The video below was shot shortly after opening late last year when there hadn't been rain for ages. They now have Zones 3 and 4 up for public consultation. With support from the MTB communtiy supporting these two areas we will get more legal trails. When you watch this video remember this is local council inside a suburb with houses all around and a train that goes up once an hour for shuttles. Help us by supporting the plan.
Please give some positive feedback on the plan, scroll down the pages the survey is at the bottom of both links, Please do both. There is are boxes for interstate riders as well, so nothing shifty here (Brisbane council, pay attention!). Zone 3 feedback here Zone 4 feedback here
...Please note that these Trail Plans are in Draft form and that we welcome your feedback to ensure that the final trail network can ultimately achieve a balance between conservation and recreation objectives.
Issue 16 is now well and truly on the news stands right around the country. Head lining this issue is Sam Hill, whom we spent a week road tripping and hanging out with between races, from Sydney right down to the Otways on the southern most tip of Australia. We then hung out with Jared Rando for the 24 hours counting down to his final run at the recent Buller National to get a blow by blow account of what goes on with a pro rider. From there we check in with the Aussie Tomac Race Team who have had a killer season. We also head across to BC with a couple of Kiwis to rebuild and hit one of the biggest lines we've ever seen. And finally we catch up with a true legend of our sport, Rob Eva, and rewind through his past 20 years in the scene. Yeah the county is pretty much in recession, but we're not tightening up on you, there's over $5000 worth of prizes stuffed into issue 16! Add into the mix 9 bike reviews, a host of the latest and greatest products and some rather pretty pictures.

The event was to be held at Upper Brookfield, will now be held at 822 Cedar Creek road Belli park-Eumundi Kenilworth rd on the same date (May 24th).
After some quick phone calls to suppliers etc, we are back on track for racing on Sunday May 24. The Gravity Club will host the race at a new track at 822 Cedar Creek road Belli park-Eumundi Kenilworth rd (diffrent location than kenilworth track). This track is pretty new, although some of you may have ridden it at the open day last year. We will also have a Saturday afternoon practice session. More details shortly, we just wanted to get the word out so you all didn't start to plan a day in the garden....We will be offering free race entry to any one that can help out by providing a marshall / driver so bring the parents, girlfriend etc along to help out and you get free runs.
Try to break Freecaster.tv - Soon! (3 comments) (link) Thursday, 7-May-2009 11:12 PM - by Ryan
Freecaster.tv, those fine purveyors of MTB racing on the internet are running a 'live' test of their servers and infrastructure ahead of the La Bresse World Cup to try and iron out any bugs they may be having.
Knowing full well that there are frequently issues with their coverage in Australia, they'd like as many of you as possible to log on at 2am Friday morning (sorry for the short notice, I just woke up in Canada) Sydney time to help them put as much load on their servers as possible and hopefully help to ensure that the live coverage from La Bresse goes smoothly for them and for you, the viewers.
So, CLICK HERE at 2am Friday morning Sydney time to watch a 'live' replay of DH action from Pietermaritzburg and 4X from Houffalize. You'll be doing your bit for the worldwide coverage of MTB racing AND confirming that you're a sad enough case that you're willing to sit up until 2 in the morning just to watch replays. I know there's plenty of you out there. DO IT!
